One popular way of assessing impact is by tracking and measuring outcomes. Outcomes are the changes, benefits, learning or other effects that result from the work you do – including but not limited to grantmaking, direct service delivery and capacity building. If you are a direct service provider, “outcomes” are statements of change that you are helping programme participants achieve. If you are a funder, you are seeking to support nonprofit projects that achieve outcomes or that have “social impact” as a result of work with a set of beneficiaries.
